The latest addition to the Thorn “Knuckle” lineup: the Tommy Knuckle.
The Tommy Knuckle is a replacement bridge for two-post designs, including Tune-o-matic ABR-1 and Nashville-style bridges, as well as select Gretsch applications.
The solid brass adjustable saddle is coupled directly to a nickel-plated aluminum base, recreating the material combination found in original 1950s-era designs. The difference is in the execution: the Tommy Knuckle eliminates the individual moving parts, clips, wires, and springs that can introduce unwanted buzzes and rattles.
No unnecessary complexity. No loose parts. Just a simple, solid machine designed for excellent sustain, reliable performance, and rich, resonant tone.
Deep, precision-machined string slots securely retain the strings during aggressive playing, while individually calculated and machined intonation peaks within each slot provide accurate intonation across standard string gauges, including 9–42, 10–46, and 11–49 with Plain G strings.
The brass “knuckle” saddle can be loosened and adjusted forward or backward—and angled as needed—to dial in precise intonation. Once set, it is retightened against the aluminum base for a solid, vibration-resistant connection.
After the action is established, set screws at each post opening provide additional stability, locking the bridge securely to the mounting posts.

3 models to replace your existing bridge:ABR-1 - Replaces ABR-1 style bridges with 6-32 full-threaded posts that are fixed directly into the body with rotating thumbwheels to adjust action. The posts and thumbwheels are not included, simply lift off the existing bridge and drop in the Tommy Knuckle onto your existing posts and thumbwheels.
