Brass Knuckle II

$235.00

Finally available—the Thorn Brass Knuckle 2.

Designed as a direct replacement for Jazzmaster, Jaguar, and Mustang guitars with traditional “thimble”-mounted bridges, the Brass Knuckle 2 brings Thorn’s one-piece compensated saddle concept to these iconic offset platforms. Designed by Ron Thorn, the Fender Custom Shop’s first Principal Master Builder, the BK2 is engineered to eliminate many of the compromises inherent in the original bridge designs.

Based on the original one-piece compensated Thorn Brass Knuckle saddle for T-style bridges, the Brass Knuckle 2 features a solid, adjustable brass saddle with precision-compensated string slots for accurate intonation, improved performance, and exceptional tone.

Per Leo’s original design intent, the BK2 rocks and pivots in the factory thimbles already installed in the guitar, making installation quick and completely reversible. There is no need to remove the existing thimbles, drill the body, or install new hardware. Simply remove the strings, remove the original bridge, drop in the BK2, restring, set the action, and adjust the intonation.

The brass “knuckle” saddle can be loosened and adjusted forward or backward—and angled as needed—to dial in precise intonation. Once set, it is retightened against the base for a solid, vibration-resistant connection. No individual moving saddles. No springs. No unnecessary hardware. Just a simple, solid design that increases mass while reducing the moving parts responsible for many of the quirks associated with traditional offset bridges.

The precision-machined string slots are deep enough to securely retain the strings during aggressive playing, while individually calculated intonation peaks within each slot provide accurate intonation across standard string gauges, including 9–42, 10–46, and 11–49 with a Plain G. A Wound G version is also available.

With no individual saddle flanges or intonation screws for the strings to catch on, the BK2 eliminates common hang-up points that can contribute to tuning instability and unwanted buzzing. The machined string slots are also designed to accommodate Bigsby-equipped guitars with steep string break angles over the bridge.

The BK2 maintains the footprint of the factory bridge for a clean, integrated appearance and remains compatible with the factory Mute when desired.

More mass. Fewer moving parts. A better connection. The Brass Knuckle 2 takes the original offset bridge concept and finishes what Leo started.
