With a 1.750 nut width, wide string spacing and huge strings...this is not something I'm used to playing. But I tell you...I think I could learn to like it. BIG tone, even unplugged. I like the ease of finger positioning near the nut and what little finger picking I can do is quite comfortable at the bridge.
Now, place this in the hands of a guitarist who is used to these specs, not to mention a phenominal player, and you've got a deadly combination!!!

Some of us had the pleasure to meet Jacques at the NAMM/JAMM in January, a local Jazz Cat with a taste for big bodies hollowbodies. Next year, hopefully we'll have the opportunity to hear him tear it up on his new Thorn. I'm lucky enough to be only a few minutes away from a cafe' that he plays at bi-weekly - oh yeah!

I believe this is the second Thorn with TH pickups. I recall my previous review mentioned how "musical" they are. These are no exception. I feel they produce very little coloring of the guitar's natural tones and timbres, like a high-end microphone. This is a perfect type of guitar to install them in too, a thick bodied semi-hollow the breathes acoustics. An excellent choice. Roll back the tone, kick the pickups in parallel, and blend it a bit of piezo - who needs a 17" jazz box!?!?!
