How do I place an order with you?
As of October 1st 2006, we are no longer taking orders for any new Artisan models. The Junior Ninety models WILL continue to be produced each month and new orders are welcomed. You can keep up to date on the status here: TNDP Thread
When will I be able to order a new Thorn?
We are currently working non-stop to catch up on the existing orders. As soon as we feel we have completed enough to reduce a new order build time to less than a year we will then open up to new orders. A current price listing will be posted at that time. What is the difference between an Artisan Deluxe and an Artisan Master?
An Artisan Deluxe is a carved top "semi-custom" guitar. Specifications such as neck shape, fingerboard radius, and pickup configuration can be customized to suit. However, wood selection is limited and the fretboard inlays are Firesuns only. Full paua purfling is standard along with inlaid logo and inlaid truss rod cover. The standard components, such as knobs, pickup covers, and toggle tips are plastic as found on most guitars.
An Artisan Master is a full blown custom guitar. The wood choices are practically endless. Most of the plastic parts are replaced with wood, such as knobs, toggle tips, back plates and tuner buttons. Firesun inlays are standard but custom inlays are easily possible. This is the ultimate instrument for customization.
What are the payment terms?
Payments are broken down into thirds. 1/3 as an initial deposit will reserve you a serial number and be placed in the build-schedule. Wood selection begins then. The second 1/3 is requested once the guitar is built and prepped for paint.
The balance is due upon completion of the guitar.
Payments can be in the form of personal check, money order, or bank wire transfer.
We also accept Visa, Master Card, or American Express but there will be a 3% charge for this service.
Will I get to select the woods used to build my guitar?
Absolutely! This is going to be your dream guitar, I want your involvement in every aspect of the build. I will send you images of the various woods for your selection and approval, regardless of which model you select.
How long will it take to build my guitar?
This will depend on the specifications and the amount of customization. An approximate delivery time will be included with the formal quotation.
